3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide to us directly
When you contact us through the website, send us an email through links on the website, sign up for our newsletter or product waitlist, or apply for a job, we collect the information you choose to provide. Depending on what you're doing, this may include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if you choose to provide it)
- The name and address of any organization you represent
- The content of your message to us
- For newsletter or waitlist sign-ups: your email address and any details you choose to include
- For job applications: information typically included in a resume or curriculum vitae
You decide what information to share with us. If you don't want to share a piece of information, don't include it.
3.2 Information our content delivery network collects automatically
We use Cloudflare as our content delivery network and security service. When you visit sigillogic.com, Cloudflare automatically collects standard technical information that's necessary to deliver and protect the website, including:
- Your IP address
- Your approximate geographic location (typically city-level)
- Your browser type and version
- Your operating system
- The pages you request and the time of those requests
- The referring URL (the page you came from, if any)
This information is collected by Cloudflare and used to serve the website, prevent abuse, and protect against attacks. It is not used by us to identify you personally, and we do not link it to any contact information you separately provide. Cloudflare's privacy practices are described at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
3.3 Cookies and similar technologies
The Sigil Logic website does not set cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics purposes.
The website's content delivery network (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary cookies required for the security and delivery of the site, such as cookies that protect against bot abuse or that obfuscate email addresses from automated harvesting. These cookies do not track you across other websites and are not used to identify you personally.
We do not use third-party advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or ad-profiling or marketing analytics platforms on sigillogic.com. The only analytics we use is the privacy-first, cookieless tool described in Section 3.4.
We do not track users across other websites or services, so Do Not Track browser signals have no effect on our collection practices.
3.4 Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the website is used — for example, how many people visit, which pages are popular, where visitors come from, and how the site performs.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-first and cookieless. It does not set cookies or other storage on your device, and it does not fingerprint or track individual visitors across websites or over time. It records aggregate measures such as page views, page-load performance, referring site, browser and operating-system type, and country. We use this information only to operate and improve the website. We never use it to build profiles of individuals or to advertise to you. Because this analytics is cookieless and stores nothing on your device, it does not rely on cookie consent. To the extent we measure traffic from the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we do so on the legal basis described in Section 5.
4. How we use information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiries
- To send you our newsletter or to notify you about product availability, where you have asked us to
- To evaluate job applications
- To operate, secure, and measure the performance of the website
- To comply with law
We do not use the information we collect for advertising, marketing automation, profiling, or automated decision-making.
5. Legal bases for processing (EEA and UK visitors)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information only where we have a legal basis to do so. Depending on the activity, our legal bases are:
- Responding to your inquiries and correspondence: our legitimate interests in receiving, managing, and responding to messages you send us — and, where your message concerns a potential business relationship, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- Evaluating job applications: our legitimate interests in assessing candidates and managing recruitment, and taking steps at your request before a possible employment relationship.
- Sending you our newsletter or waitlist notifications: your consent, which you give when you sign up and may withdraw at any time.
- Operating, securing, and measuring the performance of the website (including content delivery, abuse prevention, and cookieless analytics): our legitimate interests in keeping the site available, secure, and effective.
- Complying with the law: compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have determined that those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that already took place. You can contact us at privacy@sigillogic.com about any of these.
6. How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Cloudflare (content delivery, security, and cookieless analytics), Google Workspace (email and document storage), any email newsletter or waitlist provider we use, and other vendors as needed for specific business functions
- Legal compliance: when required by law, in response to legal process, or to protect our rights
- Business transfers: if Sigil Logic is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections
- With your consent: in other ways if you direct us to or otherwise consent
7. How long we keep information
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this notice or as required by law:
- Inquiries and correspondence: typically retained for the duration of the business conversation plus a reasonable follow-up period
- Newsletter and waitlist sign-ups: retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you
- Job applications from candidates not hired: typically retained for up to two years to consider you for future openings
- Job applications from candidates hired: transferred to the employee personnel file
- Website technical logs: retained by Cloudflare per its standard retention practices
You may ask us to delete information about you sooner; see Section 10.
8. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Our security practices follow industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the limited information we collect through the website.
No system is perfectly secure. While we work to protect information, we cannot guarantee that personal information will never be subject to unauthorized access.
9. International users
Sigil Logic is based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access sigillogic.com from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection rules than your country.
Where we transfer personal information of individuals in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom to the United States, we and our service providers rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other recognized transfer mechanisms.
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive data protection law, you may have additional rights described in Section 10 below.
10. Your choices and rights
You have the following choices about your personal information:
- Access: you can ask us what personal information we hold about you
- Correction: you can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information
- Deletion: you can ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to limited exceptions
- Restriction and objection: you can ask us to restrict, or object to, certain processing of your personal information
- Portability: where applicable, you can ask to receive certain information you provided to us in a portable format
- Opt-out of communications: you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time, and you can ask us not to contact you further about the subject matter of an inquiry
- Withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent to process information, you can withdraw that consent
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@sigillogic.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in any event within any timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on certain requests.
11. Children
Sigil Logic's website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email privacy@sigillogic.com and we will take appropriate action.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this notice and, for material changes, will take reasonable steps to notify affected individuals. We encourage you to review this notice periodically. If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using the website and contact us to delete any information we hold about you, subject to the limitations in Section 10.
